Italkrane’s commercial introduction to the world’s most important petroleum groups and its close cooperation with the leading project engineers in that sector, have led to its conducting extensive research into the safety aspects of equipment used in dangerous environments, and the development of explosion-proof component for lifting equipment in the presence of gases which are easily inflammable from heat or sparks. Our explosion-proof components specially designed for this purpose include: self-braking motors; electromagnetic disc brakes, end stop switches, control panels etc.
HOISTS
In Bussero in 1971, with suitable space and quiet around, the design office set about the realisation of an electrical hoist which was absolutely new in conception and appearance. Italkrane was the first company in Italy to open the era of modular lifting equipment in a line comprising: motor-brake; compact reducer; steel drum; steel frame. The new hoist, descendant of winches, was successful and became known for its operational safety and low maintenance requirements. No more unlubricated toothed gears on the drum therefore no “out of order”. The well cooled motor is outside and allows heavy duty, while the easily adjustable discbrake is powerful and safe and cuts maintenance costs. Today, modular construction has been taken even further with the help of numerically controlled machine tools to arrive at the new generation of electric hoists which are sold in kits enabling the technically qualified purchaser to put together high performance hoists at a cost which is 20% lower than that of pre-assembled ones.
